Call to order and Welcome – Steve

Welcome BICA folks: John and Laura Bundy, Virginia DuBowy. Christy Fleming

 

BICA items:

Christy discussed the new fee changes, campground upgrades, HS Bend grass and Earth Day in April.

 

Virginia discussed natural resources projects last year and possible ones for 2015. Some exciting restoration is going on around the park.

 

New Superintendent of BICA, John Bundy reviewed several issues and answered the board's questions. These included budget, 2016 NPS Celebration, when he will be in the south end each month and the sediment project.

 

Earth Day is April 18 and FOBHL with assist the Wyo Game and Fish with a booth on AIS.

 

Lynn, on behalf of the board, presented a large framed photo of the canyon taken at Devil's Canyon overlook, to John Bundy. (Lynn took the photo.)

 

Craig Amadio from Wyo Game & Fish - Cody discussed new fishing regulations as well as cooperative efforts at Big Horn Lake with Montana. Montana will be stocking the lake again with triploid (sterile) walleye fingerlings. WY/MT will no longer be doing the Sauger stocking but allow them to reproduce naturally. All fisherman need to check the new regulations. He plans to attend our meetings often.

FOBHL items:

A Bighorn Lake Sediment Study Funding meeting is forth coming. The board, BICA and Wyo Game and Fish will set up a meeting with the USBR in Billings soon. The sediment scoping study needs to get moving again.

 

Jerry gave the financial report and the details on the 2015 membership drive. Ken will write the renewal letter again this year.

 

Steve reported on efforts to provide cell phone coverage at Horseshoe Bend. He handed out info to the board with the details. It may be too costly for us to provide.

 

2015 Bighorn Lake Celebration will be on July 18, 2015

 

Mountain snow pack report for today is 103 to 115% of normal. This level is much easier to manage versus how high last year was.

YT Reservoir Conference calls should begin again on a monthly basis.
