BHCNRA & FOBHL Exec Meeting Minutes
May 9, 2007(moved to May 8 Board meeting)
Supt Darrell Cook - BHCNRA had met with his staff and had answers for the following items.
Well HSB area – in the contract process for Fiscal Year 2007 along with the new well at the new NPS service yard
Boat slips and docks HSB for season – will be installed once elevation is 3620’
Temp docks for Kane Ramps – lets keep an eye on the situation of water levels then decide
Boat inspections procedure for 2007 – talk to Jeff Herriford for details
Trash/weeds pickup at HSB area – talk to Mike Durtsche
Kane pking lot and cement ditch and debris – talk to Mike Durtsche
Gas pump HSBend for June 23 – use a pickup truck with a gas tank to provide gas for this event
NPS Website (put June 23 on your calendar?) – Christy will add this to the calendar soon
Also add FOBHL web site info to BHCNRA web site but not as an active link.
List HSB new launch level and kane river ramps on USBR website – Darrell will talk to USBR tomorrow
Schedule for Toilet at Kane ramp – work will begin next week
14A causeway bridge: put a marker on old bridge pier south east side – there is a new marker attached
Time line for 14A/John Blue road work – The last week of May. Mike D. will not need the 2 belly dump trucks now but could use a large water truck and pump. NEPECO in Byron will donate the water truck and driver.
FOBHL could repaint the elevation marks on HSB & Kane ramps - talk to Mike Durtsche
New NPS map – This is the 11 x 16 lake map. NPS printed 10,000 on linen paper and 3,000 on water proof paper. Boaters will need to request the water proof ones. These maps will be at the Visitor Center and also given out on June 23 with floating boat key rings from NPS. This map is on the BHCNRA web site too.
FOBHL maps – These maps are coming along fine. Darrell C approved putting the new day board locations on the maps even though the day boards are not yet installed.
New south end day boards could be provided by and installed by FOBHL – Darrell ask us to provide him a sample of one from our supplier before he decides.
NPS new jet boat – This will give the rangers a low water access boat for use mainly in the south end.
June 23 items
Pking areas – Jeff Herriford already handling this
Fee free days Friday June 22, Saturday June 23 and Sunday June 24? Darrell approved
NPS give away item? The new lake maps and a floating boat key ring
June DVD photo shoot – If needed could it be done in Crooked Ck Bay? Ken will write a request for this to Darrell so the ranger boatman can keep the area closed during the filming on June 2 and/or June 9.
Road maps YT area – Check with Bill Pickett about road map
Visitor packets be at visitor center for pickup wk of June 18-23 – Darrell gave his okey to this
Temp dock at Jim Ck – Darrell will discuss this with Mike Durtsche and let us know
Gas for that day will be provided by FOBHL using a pickup truck and tank – Darrell approved
Darrell suggested we look into getting liability insurance for this event as well as the need for it for the vending machines. We are already seeking a provider for such insurance.
